Describe how different environmental factors affect the direction of growth of roots and shoots making reference to plant hormones

Shoots grow upwards towards light and away from gravity, while roots grow downwards towards moisture and with gravity. Plants produce an uneven distribution the hormone auxin causing unequal growth rates of one side of the shoots allowing the root to curve upwards towards light.
