Expand and Simplify: 2y(3x - 8) + x(2x + y)

Start by expanding the brackets. This means that you must multiply everything inside the bracket by whatever is outside the bracket. Therefore, you should be left with: 6yx - 16y + 2x^2 + xy After this, you need to collect the like terms to simplify. (yx and xy are the same term). Therefore your final answer should be: 7xy - 16y + 2x^2
