Spanish GCSE Question: Difference between SER and ESTAR.

SER and ESTAR are both verbs which mean TO BE. SER is used when you are talking about things like nationality, where you are from, profession, time, price, physical traits and most importantly when describing a permanent state (eg. the room is big). ESTAR is used when you are talking about location, distance, emotions and most importantly when describing a temporary state (eg. the room is dirty).
