How do you explain social class?

Social class is a constructed view of how we understand the placement of people in society. We traditionally have always had three classes, which exist in a hierarchy. This is the upper, middle class and working class. However today, we have different scales, and measure class differently, more comprehensively to include things like social activities, social capital, music taste and so on. Let's take a look at the working class first as an example and proceed from there. The clue would be in the title: working. Members of the working class tend to have non-professional jobs, less financial stability and social capital.
