The beginning and the ending is by far the most important however, also the most difficult. What I would suggest is to write out the main body first with a good structure including why you want to study that course and what makes you the perfect candidate to do so. My top tips for the beginning is really, don't think too much about it and avoid cliches or over-used quotes. You want to show that you are unique and stand out, right from the very beginning. Try to stray away from cliches such as 'For as long as I've known...' and 'From a young age...' because the admissions tutor would have seen it so many times. Try to keep it short and snappy. Ideally, in a couple of sentences explain what has inspired you currently to study this course (maybe a news article, a tv show or a conference you once attended) and specifically what you find interesting about it. If you come back to the introduction at the end, then you'll have more of an idea of what you would like to write after getting stuck into the main content.
