Do I need to evaluate the context of a source?

When answering a question that involves a source and asks how far it goes in supporting one historical viewpoint, the easiest thing to do is use the 'COP' system. First look at the context, what was happening when the source was produced? How might this have affected what the source says? Then look at the origin, who produced the source? Are they biased or been influenced by anyone? Finally, look at the purpose of the source. Decide whether it was produced to maybe entertain, inform, make money or another reason. This can have an affect on the reliability of the information. Complete the answer by tying up everything you've said and make a judgment on the source.
