What are the key assumptions of the biological approach in Psychology?

Firstly, the biological approach assumes that human behaviour can be explained in terms of genes, hormones, evolution and the nervous system hence there is a focus on nature rather than nurture. Secondly, treatments within this approach focus on biologically modifying aspects of human nature such as by using medication to control mental health problems in order to alter the activities of neurotransmitters in the brain. Lastly, the biological approach also employs animal tests as it assumes that humans and animals share similarities biologically hence findings from animal experiments are seen as applicable to humans.
