The ELAT should be broken in to 3 stages:
- first - read through all the texts, paying attention to stylistic qualities about passage that would bear interesting comparison: the ELAT is a comparative test so the most important stage is working out two (or more texts) that bear upon each other intriguingly
- second - having chosen which texts to concentrate on, read through each passage again with a fine attention to detail - annotating in the passages as you go
- finally - having come up with a range of points decide what you think are the most interesting and significant points of comparison and try to structure these into around 3 distinct points, showing some kind of progression of argument and making sure to include analysis of both texts in each point - structure your paragraphs along these 3 points and you should be good to go!
