What is the best way to structure my personal statement and what should I include?

Your prospective university wants to know about you and what makes you different and special. The most important part of the statement is to show your interest in the subject you are applying for, and how you have acted on that interest in the past; this can include any kind of work experience you have or why you love the subject. Its also important to include a little information about the things you do in your spare time, this will represent you as a well rounded individual that can embrace the university as well as the course. The best things that this could include would be volunteering opportunities you have taken, positions of responsibility you have held or what you do for fun - as this can show you as a candidate with unique personality and skills.
