What are admissions officers looking for in a personal statement?

By and large they are looking for evidence to make them feel confident that you will be a successful and happy student on the course you are choosing to study. Think of your personal statement as being a little like a cover letter for a job interview.

You are trying to communicate why you think that you and the course are a match made in heaven. Why do you want to study the course? What has lead you to that decision? What experience and qualities do you have that relate to the course? Taking the time to really reflect on your journey through life so far and the reasons it has lead you to these applications is important and will go a long way.
