Expand and simplify 3(m + 4) – 2(4m + 1)

Multiply through the 3 of the first bracket to get 3m +12. Then multiply out the second bracket by -2 to get -8m -2.

Write it out in a line: 3m + 12 - 8m -2

Simplify: -5m +10

Divide by -5 again to simplify further: m - 2

Solve the following simultaneous equations: x^2 + y^2 = 12, x - 2y = 3

What does it mean to solve an equation for x?

3x+5y=7 and 9x+11y=13. Solve to find the values of x and y that satisfy both equations.

y = 4x^2 + 20x + 11 is a curve. Find the minimum point of the curve.
