What do you need for a good medicine personal statement?

Your personal statement is your chance to tell the admissions tutors more about yourself (personal) and to set yourself apart from other candidates (statement). In the opening paragraph you want to introduce yourself and why you want to study medicine. In the main body you need to demonstrate that you would make a good doctor (think about personal qualities required of doctors), backing this up with evidence like work experience. Finally, in the concluding paragraph try and leave the reader with something to remember about why they should pick you. Basically, you are trying to sell yourself, don't be modest and answer the question: why me? There are many steps you can take to improve your personal statement to give yourself the best chance of getting through to interviews.
