This question asks us to estimate the amount of money Paul gave to Charity. 

  1. To work out an estimate we must start by rounding the numbers we are given to 1 significant figure and the

Starting with 19.95 --> this rounds to 20 and 395 rounds to 400

  1. Then we have to multiply these numbers together:

20 x 400 = 8000

3. Finally subtract 6000 from our estimate

8000-6000=2000

The answer is 2000.
