What should I do to maximise my chances of geting into medicine?

Medicine is a very dififcult degree course to get into, and thus prior preparation and planning are vital to help ensure success.  I've always encouraged people to do three skills for long term preparation; a caring work experience, a hobby that you enjoy, and also something to show teamwork and leaderhip skills.  However, it's not what you have done that matters, rather the reflection.  Make sure you learn something from any experience you have, and analyse it to show how it will make you suited to medicine.
