What are some techniques to remember dates?

Dates are just a way of ordering history. Timelines are the most traditional way of learning the order of events, perhaps challenge yourself to remember 5 dates/events on a timeline each week. If you have to know 20 dates for your WW2 history exam, after 1 month this method will have you reciting them in perfect order!
