How do I use the texts I have studied in questions that include extracts?

When asked a question based on a text you have studied that includes an extract in the exam, the response will always be in the form of an essay. You will be expected to make clear, concise points, supported by evidence from the text and then explained with your own inference.

To do this you can use the PEE structure.

P- point

E- evidence

E- explanation

The evidence part of this paragraph structure is how you would include the text from the extract in the question. The quote from the text should be used to support a point you make in your essay to help answer the question.
