How could religious freedom be problematic for religious people?

Thinking a bit outside the box, by connecting concepts such as assimilation and immigration with this question gives a new perspective. Ethnic minorities immigrating to the UK, for instance, may be worried about losing their culture and religion but they still harbour an anxiety about assimilating with the prevalent cultural and religious values in the UK. Additionally, it is commonly seen in religious people, that they might wish for their children to follow and practice the same religion as them. Another anxiety at the root of this may be that they fear a divide or separation in the family if family members were to change their beliefs. Conversely, people in the host country might feel that an influx of different religions and cultures threaten theirs. For example, the Westboro Baptist Church play the offensive card when preaching their beliefs of impeding doom on humanity for turning against the word of God.
