What is homeostasis and explain two ways in which the human body is able to reduce its temperature when it is too hot as an example of homeostasis.

Homeostasis is defined as a process to maintain a constant internal environment. There are multiple ways in which the body is able to maintain a constant internal temperature such as;

1. Sweating;  there are sweat glands in the skin which release sweat. As sweat evaporatess from the bosy heat energy is removed from the skin, cooling the body

2. Vasodilation; Blood vessels leading to the skin capillaries (called arterioles) become wider (dilating) which increases blood to flow to the skin, and therefore increases heat loss
