Unlike more linear subjects such as maths, there is no exact "right" or "wrong" answer in English literature. All answers are essay based and are subjective due to the nature of the subject. Thus revising for this subject can seem a bit daunting, I panicked and spent hours researching how to revise that could have been spent actually revising. A good place to start is memorising quotes, by highlighting or noting down key quotes as you go you can create a bank of quotes that you can pick and choose from. I found that choosing 20-40 quotes from this bank and memorising them helped me greatly and helped me remember key plot points and the chronology of the text.
Ways of remembering quotes:
flashcards
Quizlet- answering questions on the spot
Pinning up quotes around the house
reading/ writing them out
Testing others
Doing practise exam questions are always a great way of revising as it helps develop your writing style and discover areas in which you need the most work. I would recommend answering a practise question as detailed as you want and spend as long as you need refining it, then the following week attempt the question again but in a time limit, slowly making the time limit shorter each week.
Other revision techniques:
practising smaller sections so it is more manageable than a whole question or past paper.
Revise key terms regularly
Explain the text and your/other interpretations of the text
