How do you subtract a mixed fraction from another?

When dealing with with mixed fraction operations, the first step is always to change the mixed fraction into a top heavy fraction. Then consider weather the question is a multiplication, divsion, addition or subtraction as these 4 are dealt with in different ways. In the case of a subtraction you would need to find a common multiple of both denominators before subtracting the new numerators.
