I'm struggling to find relevant examples in day to day Politics for all these concepts we're being taught about.

I struggled with this too, so not to worry. I found that my teacher was fantastic at explaining things, but when it came to relevant examples to put into the exam, he wasn't so great.

Reading the newspaper, whether in person or online on twitter or their respective websites, really helped me to link key terms like 'sovereignty' or 'democracy' to real life, and to real time examples. Reading news articles is a brilliant way of increasing your confidence with politics as a subject, as "events dear boy, events" are happening around us all the time and they so easily can be linked to the types of questions you get on your AS and A2 exams. For example, when looking at the power of the UK Cabinet and Prime Minister, a quick google-search reveals an abundance of articles relating to new policy Theresa May is trying to introduce and whether it will pass or not. This in itself provides an argument as to her power as head of state, if she can't outright pass her over legislation, does she weild any power at all? Now let's find a specific article and have a read over it together, can you tell me where you think we can draw a relevant example from?
