What's important to remeber about all media is the relationship between these areas. Although very intricate, a basic outline of their relationship goes like this; the INDUSTRY wants to make a profit, to do this they have to make a TEXT that can make money - by being patronised by an AUDIENCE. Once a TEXT is released, the AUDIENCE react a certain way, and the INDUSTRY uses that reaction as a guideline for the creation of a future TEXT: and so on and so forth. The three elements all interact and inform one another. Of course it is also important to remember that ceratin questions will ask you specifically about specific areas. For example, a question might ask: 'How far does X confrom to Y genre?'. This question leans heavily on exploration of the text; mise-en-scene, editing, framing etc. You would weight the answer as a textual analysis, but you should always include a smaller segment of your answer covering the other two criteria. For audience, common referances are box-office success and critical acclaim. For industry, examining marketing and distribution patterns and comparing these to other films of the Y genre.
