The Polar Bear is the largest species of bear in the world. With regards to adaptation, suggest a reason for this.

The habitat of the Polar Bears is the arctic. This is a much colder climate than the other species of bear found in the wild. Therefore the Polar Bear has adapted to live in this colder climate. One adaptation that helps is its large size. The larger the animal, the smaller their surface area to volume ratio is. This means that less heat will be lost and so the larger size of the Polar Bear helps to conserve heat in its cold habitat.
