How does the contemporary study at to our knowledge and understanding of the psychodynamic area?

What did the old study teach us: Freud taught us how our unconcious can cause disorders such as phobia's, through implementing defence mechanisms to protect our ego, this meant that displacement and projection techniques were implemented by the by projecting the fear onto a white horse instead of directly to his father. What did the contemporary study teach us - add/change our understanding - Baron Cohen added and broadened our unedrtanding regarding disorders in childhood by adding to our knwoledge relating to TOM in relation to the experimental group AS/Austism and to the control group as who were TS participants Therefore we now have a wider knowledge about more disorders thus we know have a greater knwoledge and undertanding, which aids our undertanding meaning that we are able to help more people in our society
