What is the equation for photosynthesis and what is the product used for?

Equation: carbon dioxide + water ---(with light energy)---> glucose + oxygen Glucose is the important product of the photosynthesis reaction. Some of the glucose is used in respiration to provide energy for the plant cells. The rest of the glucose is converted into an insoluble molcule called starch which is then stored in the cells. If the cells need more energy the starch can then be converted back into glucose to be used in respiration. The rate of this reaction can be limited by availability of light, carbon dioxide or the temperature.
