There are 3 types of regular verb in French; verbs ending in -er, verbs ending in -ir, and verbs ending in -re. They each have their own set pattern when it comes to conjugating them in the present tense, which are laid out below. It is also important to know when the present tense is used. Generally, it describes a universal fact, or an action that is happening now. Remember that French only has one form of the present tense that covers meanings that we have several different tenses for in English. For example "I live", "I am living" and "I have been living" are all covered in French by "j'habite".
