An object of mass 2kg is placed on a smooth plane which is inclined at an angle of 30 degrees from the ground. Calculate the acceleration of the object.

Draw a free body force diagram of all the forces acting on the object.

Resolve the forces parallel and perpendicular to the plane.

Use the equation ΣF=ma to solve the acceleration.

Why is the definite integral between negative limits of a function with positive values negative even though the area bound by the x-axis is positive? for example the integral of y=x^2 between x=-2 and x=-1

Consider the functions f(x) = −x^3 + 2x^2 + 3x and g(x) = −x^3 + 3x^2 − x + 3. (a) Find df/dx (x) and hence show that f(x) has turning points at when x = 2 /3 ± √ 13/ 3 . [5] (b) Find the points where f(x) and g(x) intersect. [4]

Integrate the following fraction w.r.t. x: (sqrt(x^2 + 1)-sqrt(x^2 - 1))/(sqrt(x^4 - 1))

(Follow on from previous question) A curve has equation y= x^2+3x+2. Use your previous results to i) find the vertex of the curve ii) find the equation of the line of symmetry of the curve
