The way to improve speaking skills in French is through practice! One good method is to read out a chosen passage in French and record yourself doing so in order to pick up your strongest and weakest areas. For: - Pronunciation - listen to podcasts, videos or TV shows in French. One particularly good channel is "TV5 Monde" which shows programmes on aspects such as nature, politics, current affairs and the arts. - Grammar - learn good connective phrases to use that show proficiency in even the most complex of tenses. Some examples of this are "quoi qu'il en soit" meaning "anyhow" or "however", this is likely to help you achieve a much higher grade than using "cependant" as it displays good understanding of pronouns but also the subjunctive tense. -Vocabulary - when in lessons at school or college, keep a small notebook and write down any vocabulary that you are unfamiliar with and/or is new to you. - Content - Nailing this component comes with having a high level of knowledge in the area of interest you are intending to discuss in your exam. If you are studying a play, for argument's sake, make sure you have knowledge of the themes, characters, dramatic techniques and perhaps some historical background on the playwright.
