How do I structure my essays?

It's important to structure your essays clearly and concisely to achieve the best grade. The 3-paragraph structure works well for A-level students. The essay should comprise an introduction, three paragraphs and a conclusion.

The introduction should be used as an opportunity to deliver your argument, communicate context, and briefly outline the points you will be making in your essay. The main body of the essay should consist of three separate points (but it is important to link them- the essay should flow nicely). These could be organised thematically, for example. Finally, the conclusion should be used to consolidate the points you have proposed in your introduction and made in your essay.
