introduce the romantic movement in the italian literature of the 18th century

The romantic movemet was a cultural trend developed during the 18th century in Germany and then it spreaded all around Europe. It was based on the expression of the deep feeling of the author and his connection with nature and the whole world.

In Italy this trend didn't became popular at an early stage because authors were still trying to emulate classical models. it is only with Alessandro Manzoni and the novel " I Promessi Sposi" that the literary genre of the novel was introduced and the old rules broken. However italian romantic poets and novelist always remained moderate and never fully absorbed the excessive German model.
