Can you explain how to divide mixed number fractions?

This is a super common question, and once you know which steps to take when, it is rather simple and just takes practise! First of all, these are the steps that you need to take: 1) Convert the mixed number fraction(s) to top heavy fractions 2) Turn the second fraction upside down, so that the bottom number is now the top number and vice versa 3) Change the division sign to a multiplication sign 4) Complete the multiplication, and tahdah you have completed the question you were given to start with! Now let's go through this using an actual example! 1/3 ÷ 2 4/5 1/3 ÷ 14/5 1/3 x 5/14 = 5/42 Now let's try it with a slightly tougher example: 4 3/8 ÷ 3 2/3 35/8 ÷ 11/3 35/8 x 3/11 = 105/ 24 If you can simplify the fraction, always remember to do so as that is often an extra mark in the exam! Why don't you try some questions on your own in order to practise this, and ask me if you need any help!...
