Bowles and Gintis are the founders of the concept called “The correspondence principle”. This concept describes how both school and workplace work collectively, to prepare the working class for their role in the working world. The formation of a school is considered as a miniature society, as it is arranged in a hierarchy, similar to the workplace. E.g. headmaster being the highest level, followed by teachers and the lowest level being students. The importance of this concept is the role allocation element, which concerns teaching students to embrace and conform to their working class culture. For example choosing the subject of design and technology in electronics and then branching into a manual labour career such as being an electrician.
