  1. Both have 5 Carbon sugar - pentose

  2. Both contain a phosphate

  3. Both contain adenine

Differences

  1. DNA has a deoxyribose sugar whereas ATP has a ribose sugar

  2. DNA can involve all four bases, ATP only adenine

  3. DNA has 1 phosphate, ATP has three phosphates
