How many hours revision should I do between now and my exam? Can I have help coming up with a plan?

Let’s break this down. Let’s look at how much time you have before the exam and work out something manageable, because overwhelming yourself with too much revision can be counter productive.

The question I always return to around exam season is “what is the best use of my time”?

Let’s look at it this way. What would you like to have done between now and the exam? If you would like to read the key texts again, why don’t you put aside half an hour every other evening for the next two weeks until you’ve reread them?

After that, what would be the best use of your time then? Would doing some practice papers and going through them in a tutoring session help? Is there a certain concept you’re really stuck on and is it most productive to spend a whole session getting to grips with that particular concept?
If it’s helpful for you we can make a plan of action for the weeks leading up to your exam and you can keep checking in with me so that you feeling on top of your progress. We can also schedule in extra sessions if you feel like you might need them.

And remember, plans change and it may well be that one task which you expected to take an hour ends up taking a whole evening, or visa versa. It’s good to be flexible with your plans and to remember to keep asking yourself, in this moment, “what is the best use of my time”?
