First of all the tutor should make sure that the student has a full understanding of all the vocabulary studied in class. This also implies being able to write the words down without looking at them.
Following this first warm up, the student should start working on the main task: presenting himself/herself. To make this more interactive, the tutor could lead the student by asking questions. This brief conversation is a way to stimulate the speaking skills of the student.
After this, the student should be able to use the material from the conversation to write down a paragraph.
As in all writing exercises, proofreading is fundamental, especially when learning a new language: being able to recognize mistakes shows a deeper understanding of the grammar and the vocabulary. The tutor should lead the student in understanding where are the problems, why they are problematic and which words/structural form could fix the issues.
