How to analyse artists and their work

Intially when I would look at an artists work is to break it down into 5 different factors.

-Form (simply what the painting visually looks like)

-Context (who was the artist and when was the piece created)

-Content (What the paintings of)

-Process (medium of the piece)

-Mood (How it makes you feel, this bits the personal angle so the most important)
