How do you intergrate sin^2(x)?

You have to write it in terms of cos(2x) using the double angle formula. The same applies for intergrating cos^2(x), you again have to write it in terms of cos(2x) using the same double angle formula.

A 1kg mass is launched from the ground into the air at an angle of 30 degrees to the horizontal and with initial speed 25 ms^-1. Assuming negligible air resistance, how far from the starting point will the mass travel before it hits the ground?

Express 3cos(x)+4sin(x) in the form Rsin(x+y) where you should explicitly determine R and y.

Express x^2 - 7x + 2 in the form (x - p)^2 + q , where p and q are rational numbers.

how do you differentiate y=x^2 from first principles?
