How should an exam or assessment essay be structured?

Most importantly, your essay should respond directly to the question so the use of question terms is important throughout especially in your introduction and conclusion. A good essay structure would open with an introduction, then the main body of your essay would consist of a number of different paragraphs focusing on things such as narrative point of view, structure, language and imagery and tone. Finally, you should finish your essay with a strong conclusion rounding up your argument in answer to the question.
