What is the difference between passive and active?

Passive is often used when the focus on the action, not so much the person involved. Active on the other hand seems more vivid.

As an example you could say:

The dog ate the sausage. (Active)

Der Hund hat die Wurst gegessen.

Or

The sausage was eaten. (Passive)

Die Wurst wurde gegessen.

I don't understand why you should say 'man geht ins Kino' instead of 'man geht in dem Kino'.

I don't understand "Plusquamperfekt"! What is it and when would I use it?

Separable verbs present tense: Rearrange these sentences so that they are in the correct order. Then translate them into English.
