All tickets for a concert are the same price. Amy and Dan pay £63 altogether for some tickets. Amy pays £24.50 for 7 tickets. How many tickets does Dan buy?

We know that Amy bought 7 tickets for £24.50. This means to find out the price for each ticket, we divide the price for 7 tickets by 7: price per ticket = (24.50/7) = £3.50 Now we can find the total number of tickets that Dan and Amy bought in total using the price for all the tickets together: total number of tickets = (63/3.50) = 18 Since we know that 18 tickets were bought altogether and Amy bought 7 tickets, the number of tickets that Dan bought is just: 18 - 7 = 11 Therefore Dan bought 11 tickets.
