How do I effectively revise quotes?

It is much easier to remember something if we break it down into smaller parts. Therefore I tend to sort my quotations in relation to themes and characters and here you can see that there are a lot of overlaps between quotations and there will surely be many different quotes which you can apply to different questions. Colour coding also helps, so I seperate my quotes, analysis and meaning which helps me remember but also I know what to look for when I'm quickly glancing over the notes before the exam. Similarly, I think that having the quotes in 'small packages' like this helps in the exam, because then everytime you use that quote you already have your analysis prepared. I like to do my quote revision on mindmaps instead of flashcards because I prefer to see it all spread out and seeing my way of thinking can also help in the exam. Obviously a good knowledge of the text is very useful, but it might also be a good idea to give a bit of context to the quote, which can help your understanding and but also might help in rememebering it better. Page numbers are very useful.
