How can the target audience be identified in a text?

Identifying the target audience within a text is essential when trying to analyse one, therefore it is important to learn the ways in which it can be found. The format of a piece of writing is the first aspect to look out for. How exactly is the author trying to convey their message? For example, if a message is being conveyed through the form of a Facebook post or another social media platform then an assumption would be that the author is trying to reach out to a younger generation that are well accustomed to, or avid users of the internet and more specifically social media. Language is another signifcant factor to look out for which could help identify the target audience. If someone is trying to reach out to children then the language would be simple and fun to read in order to get the attention of a very young audience. There are many factors to consider when trying to conclude the answer to this question, many times the target audience will not be obvious and you will have to use a bit of guesswork, but the most important thing is that you validate your answer with evidence. In the end, there is no right or wrong with this answer and it is usually left up to interpretation, but these conclusions must have some validation behind them in order for you to produce a worthy answer.
