How do you site a text?

You can either quote a direct piece of the text in "" and say what passage of what book it is from. 

Or you can paraphrase what is being said in a passage of a text and specify what part of the text and what text it is from. 

There are many different referencing systems that you may need to use like Harvard or MLA.
