What if I do not get any offers?

First of all, do not worry, tens of thousands of well qualified applicants fail to secure a single place, it does not mean you are not an ideal candidate, but it is just the nature of this highly competitive, over-saturated application process. There are still plenty of opportunities to become a doctor, it will not be easy, but you will not fail as long as you persevere; failure is only achieved when you succumb to a setback. Every setback provides an opportunity, a chance to grow, so the most important thing is to know your strengths, explore your weaknesses and work on them. From here there are a few avenues you can go down: taking a gap year, gathering experience, working on self improvement; you can pursue a university degree you are interested in, does not even have to be medical related, and then apply for graduate entry medicine; maybe medicine itself is not for you, there is a vast number of healthcare professions that can be equally if not more rewarding, some you may not even have thought of, such as prosthetics or radiotherapy. Whichever route you choose, you need to set your mind to it, taking a realistic approach and always asking what if, so that you can pick yourself up after every tumble.
