What is the difference between "est", "es" and "et"?

We can classify these words in two categories, verbs for "est" and "es" which are the conjugaison of the verbe "être" = "be". "est" is use when the subject can be replace by he/she/it (il/elle/on). e.g. Il est gentil - He is nice. "es" is use when the subject is you (tu) e.g. Tu es gentil - You are nice.

"et" is a coordinating word, to make a link between two words e.g. Je mange une pomme et une banane - I am eating an apple and a banane.
