Earth is being added to a pile so that, when the height of the pile is h metres, its volume is V cubic metres, where V = (h6 + 16) 1 2 − 4.Find the value of dV/dh when h = 2.

As V=(h6+16)1/2 -4, the chain rule can be used to calculate dV/dh.

dV/dh=3h5(h6+16)-1/2

h=2 can be substituted in to find the solution.

325(26+16)-1/2=10.73

Find dy/dx for y=x^2 * sin(x)

In a science experiment a substance is decaying exponentially. Its mass, M grams, at time t minutes is given by M= 300e^-0. 5t

x^2 + y^2 + 10x + 2y - 4xy = 10. Find dy/dx in terms of x and y, fully simplifying your answer.

Given that y = 5x(3) + 7x + 3, find A) dy/dx B) d2y/dx2
