How do you resolve forces on an object on an angled plane?

The forces should be resolved in two directions: parallel to the plane, and perpendicular to the plane. Friction will act parallel to the plane (up the slope), and the normal force wil act perpendicular to the plane. The weight of the object will act vertically down, so it must be split into its components. The component acting perpendicular to the plane, in the opposite direction to the normal force, will be WcosA, where W is the weight of the object, and A is the angle of the incline of the plane. The component of the weight acting parallel to the plane (down the slope) will be WsinA. We can use the resolution of these forces to work out the coefficient of friction.

The line l1 has equation y = −2x + 3. The line l2 is perpendicular to l1 and passes through the point (5, 6). (a) Find an equation for l2 in the form ax + by + c = 0, where a, b and c are integers.

What is a hypothesis test

A curve passes through the point (4, 8) and satisfies the differential equation dy/dx = 1/ (2x + rootx) , Use a step-by-step method with a step length of 0.3 to estimate the value of y at x = 4.6 . Give your answer to four decimal places.

I don't understand why the function "f(x)=x^2 for all real values of x" has no inverse. Isn't sqrt(x) the inverse?
