How do I go about adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions?

The key thing to remember with fractions, is that adding and subtracting them require a COMMON DENOMINATOR. We achieve this by multiplying both the top and bottom of fractions by a number that allows us to achieve a common denominator.

Multiplying two fractions together is super simple. we just multiply the top lines and then multiple the bottom lines to give us the answer.

When we see a fraction being divided by another fraction, don't be thrown off! It's super easy - all we have to do is turn that divide sign into a multiplication one and flip the second fraction. From this point, we can go about solving the problem in exactly the same way we would when multiplying two fractions together.
