Why have you chosen to persue medicine rather than another healthcare profession?

It is really important to ensure you do not belitte the other healthcare professions. One thing that medical schools reiterate is that every single staff member, from a HCA to a nurse, are all vital components in the functioning hospital or healthcare setting. Therefore, when answering a question like this, it is important that you emphasise how you have thought about the other professions but you decided you wanted to become a doctor. Obviously, my reasons would be different to your own, but some of the things I said was the ability to diagnose is almost like a puzzle and you get to use all the advanced knowledge you have learnt to put pieces together and help patients. I would subsequently, go through all the reasons you chose to study medicine and then adapt them to the question, to ensure there is no belittling to the other healthcare professions. With all potential medical interview questions, I would go through the Do's and Don'ts and especially because i have had first-hand experience myself, I hope that my knowledge would be valuble for them.
