I know at first a lot of the formulae or techniques you use in maths may at first seem pointless, especially if you’re not planning on going into a scientific or mathematical field, but a lot of the things you do learn have the capacity to be utilised in your everyday life. For example, basic algebra can help work out monetary issues, such as how much you owe a person, or it can help you predict how much something would cost.
If there’s a deposit for a house, let’s say £300, and then it’s £55 extra for every week you’re there, and you are there for x amount of weeks. Y is how much you’d gave to pay after that many weeks, so: y=55x + 300
And that is only one example. As you go on in life you’ll find many small ways where your maths GCSE comes in useful besides the basics.
